Maybe it was Chris’ family history that originally inspired his passion for baking and interest in the fine art of sweets. Chris’s great grandparents owned a small family business in Leutkirch Germany called The Conditorei & Café Kempter. Many of these recipes have been carried over to OTT Patisserie as he was handed the precious handwritten recipe book dating back to 1920.
Chris brings 17 years of pastry experience. He was originally trained in Germany and worked there several years before moving to established properties such as Harrods in London. He was Head Pastry Chef in the Hyatt, Hilton, Sofitel and Langham, until he finally opened his shop ‘OTT patisserie’ in 2012.
In OTT patisserie you will find bread, chocolates, pralines, fudge, cakes, savouries, great coffee and the signature opera slice. Through Chris’ enjoyment and love of pastry he has developed his recipes over the years from his experiences around the world and of course the good old recipe book from his great grandparents.
